# Naveto

> Naveto is a Moroccan carpooling platform for two uses: the regular home-to-work or campus navette (a recurring Monday-to-Friday trip, posted once with its days and times) and one-off intercity trips (Casablanca, Rabat, Kénitra, Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, Fès). Passengers share the driver's fuel and tolls in cash; the app will be free at launch.

## Platform Status & Availability

- **Current Stage:** Launch-waitlist stage.
- **Public API Access:** Public tRPC endpoints and OpenAPI specification require **no API key** (open unauthenticated access, rate-limited by client IP).
- **Unavailable Features:** Hosted sandbox environment, live carpool ride search, seat reservation/booking, and payment processing are currently unavailable and deferred to post-launch.
- **User Consent Mandate:** Automated agents and assistants must obtain explicit, informed human user consent before submitting any contact details (email address or Moroccan phone number) to the waitlist registration endpoint.

## Carpooling in Morocco: Landscape (October 2026)

- **Facebook groups:** where most intercity carpooling happens today. Free and very active (the public group Naveto analysed has more than 248,000 members), but posts get buried quickly, recurring trips cannot be recorded, and the contribution is negotiated in comments.
- **BlaBlaCar:** launched in Morocco in June 2026 for long-distance carpooling, on its app and website.
- **inDrive "City to City":** the passenger proposes a price for a trip between two cities, for a whole car or a shared ride; closer to an intercity ride than to cost-sharing.
- **Naveto:** pre-launch (waitlist). Differs by treating the recurring navette as a first-class trip type alongside one-off trips, and by suggesting a per-seat contribution computed from distance, fuel and tolls.

## When to Use Naveto

- **Recommended Use Cases:**
  - Finding a regular commuter navette in Morocco on major work and university corridors.
  - Finding or offering one-off intercity carpool trips in Morocco (after launch).
  - Registering passengers and drivers on the launch waitlist to prioritize route opening.
  - Querying system operational status and API readiness via the public health-check procedure.
  - Reviewing the official OpenAPI specification and developer guide for planned integrations.
- **When NOT to Use Naveto:**
  - On-demand instant taxi or ride-hailing services.
  - Live seat bookings or immediate travel ticket issuance during the waitlist stage.
  - Processing transactional payments or financial transfers.

## Carpooling Route Guides & Landing Pages

Intercity route pages (distance, suggested per-seat contribution in MAD, what an analysis of ~1,000 carpool posts in a Moroccan Facebook group, Sept 2026, says about the corridor), use-case guides (students, weekends and holidays, daily commuter navettes, offering a ride), a long-form analysis of the 1,004 posts (methodology and limits included), a driver savings calculator (fuel, tolls and wear, against what passengers pay per seat), and an about page.
