Frequently asked questions about carpooling in Morocco

Which carpooling apps are there in Morocco?

As of October 2026, intercity carpooling mostly goes through four channels. Facebook groups, free and very active: the one we analysed has more than 248,000 members, but posts get buried quickly and the contribution is negotiated in comments. BlaBlaCar, launched in Morocco in June 2026, for long-distance trips, on its app and website. inDrive's “City to City” feature, where the passenger proposes a price for a trip between two cities: closer to an intercity ride than to cost-sharing. And Naveto, on a waitlist before launch, built as much for the regular home-to-work navette as for one-off trips.

What is the difference between a one-off carpool and a daily navette?

A one-off carpool is a single trip between two cities, often decided at the last minute: about 45% of the posts analysed are for “today” or “tomorrow”. A navette is a recurring trip, Monday to Friday at a fixed time, to a workplace or a campus. Facebook groups have no way to record a recurring trip; Naveto plans both: a one-off trip is posted once, a navette is posted with its days and times.

How much does an intercity carpool cost in Morocco?

Carpooling is not a transport fare: the passenger contributes to the driver's fuel and tolls. Each route page above shows a suggested contribution per seat, computed from the distance, and the comparator sets it against the train and the coach. The final amount is agreed with the driver and paid in cash.

Is Naveto available yet?

Not yet. Naveto is on a waitlist before launch: there is no live search or online booking for now. The app will be free at launch, and trip costs are shared directly between driver and passengers. Join to be notified.
