Weekend and holiday carpooling in Morocco

The weekend is the busiest time for intercity carpooling. Here is what the posts say about days, times and the most requested routes, to organise a Friday departure or a holiday trip.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Among posts that name a day, Friday comes first (66), then Saturday (59) and Sunday (58), well ahead of Thursday (46), Monday (45), Wednesday (41) and Tuesday (34). Thursday evening starts the movement, Monday brings travellers back.

On times, two peaks stand out: the morning, between 6 and 10 am, and above all late in the day, from 3 to 9 pm, with the 3 – 6 pm band in front. A minority of departures happen at night, between 9 pm and 2 am.

Weekend routes

The Agadir corridors carry the most posts: Agadir – Casablanca (82), Agadir – Marrakech (51) and Agadir – Rabat (25), out of 648 posts that name exactly two cities. Agadir – Casablanca is the most posted route, with 39 offers and 37 requests. On Agadir – Rabat, requests outnumber offers 15 to 6: this is where seats are scarcest.

The sample covers late August and early September. There is therefore no figure specific to Eid or other holidays: what follows holds for big departures in general.

Holiday trips: plan ahead

About 45% of classified posts are for "today" or "tomorrow", but on long distances demand often exceeds supply. For a departure over 400 km, do not leave it to the same morning: fix your date as soon as you know it, and accept a time window (morning, afternoon, evening) rather than an exact hour.

On budget, count 159 to 169 MAD per seat for Agadir – Casablanca and 87 to 93 MAD for Casablanca – Marrakech. Each route page details the range.

Frequently asked questions

Which days are best to find a carpool?

Posts are most numerous on Friday, Saturday and Sunday: more choice, but also more demand. On weekdays, trips are easier to organise, especially over long distances.

Is carpooling possible for holidays?

Yes, for any trip between cities. On long distances demand exceeds supply (Agadir – Rabat: 15 requests for 6 offers), so allow plenty of time. Naveto is not launched yet: the waitlist lets you be notified.
